Jaco Kleynhans – Director and CEO (B.Eng. (Hons) Agricultural Engineering, Pr. Eng.)
Jaco obtained his B.Eng. (Hons) in Agricultural Engineering at the University of Pretoria (TUKS) in 1990. He started his professional career working for the Department of Agriculture in 1987 after which he ventured into the coal mining industry in 1995. After 10 years employment at Ingwe Coal / BHP Billiton (Douglas Colliery and Optimum Colliery respectively), he started working as a consultant at African EPA, specialising in the compilation of EIARs, EMPrs, IWULAs and IWWMPs. He currently has more than twenty five years’ experience in environmental management.
Jaco has the following professional registrations:
- Professional Engineer (ECSA No: 940108) with the Engineering Council of South Africa.
- Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA, No: 2020/2255).

Anthony Davis – Director (B.Sc. (Hons) Geology)
Anthony completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Geology at the University of the Western Cape in 2000. He started his professional career working for Eskom as a junior geologist in 2001. Anthony joined the Petroleum Agency of South Africa in 2006 as a Principal Karoo Geologist; thereafter he joined Shanduka Coal (Pty) Ltd as geologist and Eskom Business Manager in 2007. In 2010 he was appointed as the Chief Geologist for Muhanga Mines (Pty) Ltd where he was involved in many greenfield and brownfield projects. Anthony is currently the Managing Director at EPA (Eugene Pretorius & Associates) and also joined Zyntha as a director in 2019. He also authored and co-authored several competent persons reports (SAMREC and JSE compliant).
Anthony has the following professional registrations:
- Registered Professional Natural Scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP, Pr. Sci. Nat. No: 400144/12).
- Member of the Geological Society of South Africa (Membership No.: 965880).

Gillian Nhlapo – Director (B.Sc. (Hons) Environmental Management)
Gillian obtained her B.Sc. (Hons) in Environmental Management at the University of South Africa in 2018. She started her professional career working for ILISO Consulting (Pty) Ltd in 2006 as an Environmental Technician. Gillian joined Lepelle Northern Water in 2009 where she held the position of Environmental Coordinator up until 2018 when she joined the Zyntha team as an Environmentalist. In 2019 she became one of the Directors of the company.

Gerhard Jansen van Vuuren – Senior Environmental Consultant (B.Sc Geology & Geotechnics & B.Sc. (Hons) Geohydrology)
Gerhard completed his B.Sc. (Hons) in Geohydrology at the University of Free State in 1993. He held various positions at BHP Billiton and South32 with the predominant focus on environmental management, project management and closure management. Gerhard has over twenty one years’ work experience, predominantly in the mining industry. He joined Zyntha as a Senior Environmental Consultant in 2016. He is a registered Professional Natural Scientist with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP, Pr. Sci. Nat. No: 400139/00).

Emaculate Madungwe-Nharingo – Registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (B.Sc. (Hons) AES; MSc.IWRM)
Emaculate completed her honours degree in Applied Environmental Sciences (AES) at the University of Zimbabwe, and a regional master’s in integrated water resources management (IWRM) at the University of Dar es Salaam. she further studied for a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Management for Developing Countries with CIPSEM. She joined the Zyntha team in March 2024 as an Environmental Assessment Practitioner with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA, No: 2021/3823). She is also a registered Professional Natural Scientist in Environmental Science with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).

- Stakeholder Engagement;
- Environmental licence auditing;
- Water resource monitoring and reporting;

Nicolette Struwig – Data Processor and Office Administrator
Nicolette is responsible for data processing, administrative duties and general office management. She also assists the team with Public Participation Processes.
